About

Welcome to Vida Collective! I'm so happy that you're here!

I hope you feel as though you are stepping into a local market in Latin America as you shop through the store. One of my favorite things to do when traveling is to walk through the stalls of an open market, meet artisans, and learn about the incredible products they have made. So many of the items that you will find here are also sold in markets in their home countries. Each piece is made with love, by hand. The artisan has learned their craft from the generations that came before them and when you purchase their products, you are honoring and affirming their culture and talents! What a gift, that we can be connected to people across the globe through art and that our lives are linked! That's Vida...Life.

So, how do I end up here with a boutique focused on ethical and fair trade products? Really, it started about 20 years ago! I was studying in Mexico, traveling all over the country any chance I could get, and visiting ALL the markets! I was in love! The colors, the vibrancy, the passion and time poured into each piece. So beautiful! Okay, let's fast forward now. In 2020, a friend that I met when I lived in Mexico connected me with another friend that was partnering with an artisan making embroidered masks. This connection led to me selling a LOT of masks and then to jewelry and textiles and well, now here we are! How incredible to think that my experience living in Mexico 20 years ago would lead me to starting a business today?!

Vida Collective is a business, but it's a special kind of business. This business is about job creation. When you purchase ethical and fair trade products here you are supporting my small business but also the small businesses of the artisans. This business can make a significant impact in the lives of others. You and your purchases can make a significant impact in the lives of others!

May we all live our lives to the fullest!
